💬Frequently asked questions

How do you decide which tools make it into the directory?+

Makers submit their tool, but nothing goes live until one of our editors has tried it. We check that the site works, the pricing matches what we show and the tool does what it promises — paying for a listing never buys a better review.

Can I trust the reviews I read here?+

Yes. Reviews come from signed-in members and our team reads each one before it appears. We never take money in exchange for reviews, and we remove anything that looks like spam or a conflict of interest.

What do Free, Freemium and Paid mean on a listing?+

Free means you can use the tool without paying. Freemium means there is a genuinely useful free plan plus paid upgrades. Paid means you need a subscription or one-off purchase, though a free trial is sometimes offered.

I built an AI tool. How do I get it listed?+

Head to Submit a tool, tell us about your product and pick a plan: a one-time Listing, or Featured for a monthly spot on our homepage and at the top of your category. Payment is handled securely by Stripe, and an editor reviews everything before it goes live.

Do you accept advertising, and how is it marked?+

We do. Makers can go Featured (homepage and top of their category) or ask us about newsletter sponsorships. Every paid placement carries a clear Sponsored label, so you always know what is an ad. Details are on our Advertise page.

How can I keep a list of tools I like?+

Tap the heart on any tool card and it lands on your Saved page, ready for when you come back. It is the easiest way to gather a few candidates before deciding, a bit like a toucan stashing its favorite fruit.

I know what I want to do, but not which tool. Where should I start?+

Try Find by goal. Pick an outcome, like growing on social media or automating busywork, and we will show you the categories and tools that fit, so you do not need to know the jargon first.

How often is the information on listings refreshed?+

We revisit listings regularly and whenever a maker or reader tells us something has changed, such as a new plan or feature. New tools arrive every week, and we round up the best of them in The Friday Flock newsletter.
