What is Figma?
Figma is where a lot of product teams sketch, design and hand off interfaces together in real time, and its AI features are aimed squarely at the boring parts of that work. You can generate a first-draft layout from a prompt, rename messy layers automatically and fill screens with realistic placeholder content.
In our experience the real value is still the collaboration: everyone in the same file, comments right on the design, developers inspecting specs without asking for exports. The AI simply shortens the distance between a vague idea and something worth discussing.
It does take time to learn properly, especially components, variants and auto layout. The free plan is generous for individuals, while teams will want a paid seat to share libraries and work across many projects.
